Obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Benin in 1996
Served as Resident Doctor and In-house Surgeon for St. Milla Hospitals in Apapa, Lagos from March 1997 to February 2000, where he was tasked with the management of Challenging cases in patients whose choice of treatment was avoidance of Blood Transfusion. He still serves as Visiting Surgeon for routine surgical emergencies.
In March 2000, he set up the first wholly Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Hospital providing the enabling environment for consultants from various specialties to give quality and safe medical care without exposure to allogeneic blood transfusion.
He then obtained Post Graduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in 2008 from the Post Graduate School, College of Medicine, University of Lagos and also became a founding member of the Nigerian Faculty of the American College of Surgeon’s Advanced Trauma Life Support in 2009. He is a Certified Provider in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Live Support of the American Heart Association.
He has been awarded Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery by the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and had his Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery from Asia’s Premier Institution for Laparoscopic Surgery: World Laparoscopy Hospital, New Delhi.
Spoken in many seminar and conferences on the advantages and practicality of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery over Africa and recently was invited to share his experience with the Bloodless Medicine and Surgery program of Atlanta Medical Centre, Atlanta Georgia, USA on Practice of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery in resource limited settings without the high tech equipments that they use.
