A consultant paediatrician. She studied paediatrics and child health at the University of Lagos and other prestigious institutions in the United Kingdom including University College London, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Institute of Child Health. She worked in Lagos University Teaching Hospital and various UK hospitals including Newham General Hospital, East London, Bradford Royal Infirmary, Ravensbourne NHS Trust, and Bromley. She specialised in aspect of acute paediatrics, community paediatrics, neonatology and neuro-disabilty.
She is the Founder and Chief Executive officer of Anu Dosekun Healthcare Foundation. Her personal vision of saving children’s lives inspired her to set up the Foundation. She believes that every child must be given a chance to live irrespective of the background they come from.
Dr Dosekun is also the Chief Executive Officer of Outreach Children’s Hospital with branches at Festac Town and Okota.
She is a member of the Advisory Committee on Health to His Excellency, Gov. Raji Fashola of Lagos State. In addition she is on the Technical Committee, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and the Executive Council of the International Hospital Foundation as well as a member of the senior Leaders Group of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative and a Fellow of the Aspen Institute of Leadership, Colorado, USA.
She is a renowned speaker who has given various lectures on the clinical and management areas of healthcare across Nigeria.
She is a recipient of several awards including a certificate of merit from the department of Paediatrics, Lagos University Teaching Hospital and the Jane Kilpatrick Gold Medal.
She was named a Naija Diamond by Diamond Bank plc for the 50th Independence Celebration of Nigeria for citizens engaged in community work impacting on the Nigerian Community.
She also received the Impacting your World award 2010 from Women in Business (Wimbiz) Organisation in Nigeria.
